If you have to fly or ride to the port from another city to step onto the cruise liner, then it’s a good thing to reach the city a day in advance. This gives you time to relax and settle down and avoid the last minute stress of boarding the cruise liner in a hurry. Nobody wants to encounter a stressful situation, especially when it can be easily avoided.

Well, when you’re on a cruising trip that should last a few days, it’s important that you eat light, and not eat too much. Sea sickness is common when you’re travelling by sea, especially the first time. However, this doesn’t mean you should starve yourself. Many cruise liners offer buffets and ala carte too. If your ship stops at port for several hours, the best thing you can do is not leave the ship. Even though you can step down to take a look around, it may not be entirely cool since all the visitor buses will be crammed up. A better option is to stay onboard and spend some time reading a book, taking a nap or even getting yourself pampered at the spa.
